The Gertrude Hotel and our AGM Insulator lights

The Gertrude Hotel chose our AGM Insulator lights with hardware for both pendants and wall lights in bronze.

Located in one of Melbourne’s coolest locations, The Gertrude Hotel on Gertrude Street Fitzroy was due for an upgrade and they approached Edison Light Globes for assistance. The beautiful historic building was obviously a strong influence and we supplied them with a range of insulator lights from which to choose. They decided on some pendant insulators with extra long braided cable and combined them with rustic ladders to create a unique ceiling installation in the dining room.

For the wall lights they needed a product that could be hung on old bluestone and brick walls. As there was no wall cavity access, we suggested using our wooden ceiling block as a base and they painted some conduit for along the wall to run the wire through. Another idea may have been to use a copper conduit water pipe (making sure that it is independently earthed.)

With a warm inviting atmosphere, a great selection of beer and an inviting contemporary menu, The Gertrude Hotel is a lovely inner city pub to visit.
