800 mm flat black glass explosion proof light is a reproduction cast and powder coated ship light. This design is typical of the explosion proof lights employed in ships’ engine rooms, cargo decks and similar areas. These explosion proof cast aluminium lights were originally designed to allow efficient lighting on LNG or LPG carriers and chemical container ships where explosion proof lighting was essential. Reproduction shown here is smaller scale to suit domestic use as retro style industrial fitting. Brass support bars and small hardware contrast with the smooth black finish.

They are an industrial style that we think would work well in an industrial themed kitchen, cafe or hotel. Incorporating a 100mm diameter glass containment tube, they may also provide lighting for food preparation areas i.e., for shatterproof requirement over coffee machines.

These lights are a new casting with powder coat applied in our in-house warehouse powder coat oven. We install high quality (CRI90-95), (24 volt) low voltage LED strip inside an aluminium profile. The LED can be dimmed via the driver.

Suspension system

There are a number of ways to suspend this light fitting. You can choose from chain or cable suspension. Virtually and chain weight will work given that there are two chains and the total weight is just 3.5 kgs. Cable should be stainless steel with loops made with appropriate ferrules. We can supply both chain or stainless cable. For stainless wire we would recommend 1.6mm 7X7 strand. Photographs show hung with oval black chain. Select from the addon dropdown which suspension solution you would prefer from our selection or order chain as a separate item in ant color you prefer.

Wiring and LED

The driver location can be concealed in the ceiling space or surface mounted. All new wiring is completed ready to be installed by your electrician. We supply chain suspension when installed as a pendant.

Choose between 240V and 120V to suit your Country voltage.  For US and Canada, UL listed components are used but the light fitting itself is not UL listed.
TRIAC Dimming is compatible with most mains-connected trailing or leading edge dimmers. 1-10V dimming can be used with any 1-10V dimmer or other systems such as DALI. You can also choose to have this supplied with no driver and supply your own to supply 24 volt constant voltage to suit your control system.

Color Temperature

*Colour Temperature can be specified from Vintage warm (2700K), Warm (3000k), Neutral (4000k) or Dim to warm (1800K to 3000K)

Dim-to-Warm Series creates more than beautiful light, it sets the tone and creates the perfect ambience. LED technology allows this dynamic strip to produce a candle-like glow similar to traditional incandescent lighting, but with innovative versatility and peak performance.

Choosing the right color temperature to create the perfect ambience has never been easier. The Din-to-warm Series is easily dimmable and controllable with TRIAC dimming (MLV, and ELV), PWM dimming, and 0/1-10V dimming. As the lights dim, they automatically warm from 3000K to 1800K. The strip offers the nostalgic comfort of incandescent lighting while utilizing modern technology that can be used in almost any space. All without having to install a complicated control system.

Please note these light fittings are repro for decorative use and do not qualify as vapor or explosion proof. Therefore they are not suitable for hazardous applications.
