The Meopta Opemus 4 x 4 was a highly engineered, Czechoslovakian manufactured photo enlarger introduced in the early 1950’s and produced to the 1970’s. These precision machined metal enlargers ensured that your negative was in perfect alignment every time.
This model has been rewired to accept an E27 brass lamp holder and is an original one-off item from Little Anvil. The timber footing has been replaced with a custom powder coated crackle black retort stand base which complements the original hammered finish of the Meopta. We have also added a custom electro etched boiler plate on the base in 3mm mild steel which has been blackened, oiled and stamped with an individual serial number.
This enlarger is in beautiful condition for its age and has signs of patina and wear from a life of service. This is expected on an item of this age and adds to the original feel of the piece.
This lamp would be ideally suited for use in a photography studio, a large office desk, hotel concierge, restaurant reception area or as a decorative table lamp.
