Early in 1933, Pioneer tobacco farmers asked The Department of Education to build a school in the valley. Back in 2007 the McMahons made the bold decision to leave Auckland and purchase the now totally derelict country school in Pongakawa, Western Bay of Plenty. Some people said they were mad, and maybe they were right.Vintage-barn-lighting

Right from the start they didn’t see the broken windows, rusty roof, peeling paint and years of neglect. All they could see was the beauty of 5 acres of New Zealand’s history. Fast forward 6 years and it is a fabulous vintage venue now complete with vintage festoon lighting from Edison Light Globes.

Every evening they continue to blow my socks off !!! Looking forward to popping up the next set.
